BJ's hires Lyle Tick as president and chief concept officer

The appointment of the On the Border CEO is the latest sign of change at BJ’s, which ousted its CEO last week.

Nearly a quarter of public restaurant companies have hired new chief executives this year amid weak sales and stock price performance.

He will be replaced temporarily by Brad Richmond, a BJ's board member and former CFO of Darden Restaurants.

The departure of CEO Brian Niccol is speeding up previously announced C-suite moves. The planned retirement of CFO Jack Hartung is now on hold indefinitely.

Damola Adamolekun will take the reins of the struggling seafood giant after a sale to Fortress Investment Group is finalized. His tenure at Chang’s made him a rising star in the industry.

Michael Spanos will take over at Bloomin' Brands from the retiring Dave Deno.

Haque was previously outside general counsel for the casual-dining rib chain. She has been tasked with turning the brand around.

The Bottom Line: In hiring Brian Niccol, the coffee shop giant opted to bring in an experienced hand, rather than focus purely on culture.
